why mentor cohort

The Mentor-Cohort option is for couples who are ready to take an active part in their preparation for marriage. They are:

• looking for marriage preparation that connects them to other couples and the Church family
• hoping for an opportunity to grow and strengthen their relationship with God and with each other in an ongoing way
• expecting their marriage preparation retreat to provide space for them to be real about the joys and challenges of forming a new family in marriage

Couples who choose the mentor-cohort option for marriage preparation become part of a community of 3-5 engaged couples and 1-2 mentor couples. They commit to online video sessions from Better Together and four weekly 60 to 90-minute video conferencing meetings. Each meeting will provide community, space for discussion of the assigned sessions, and practical tools on the topics for the week. Click here for a more detailed overview.

Future Cohorts
February 2024
The four sessions will take place from 6:30-8:00p on Thursdays, February 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2024.

October 2024 cohort dates to be announced.

Cost
A $50 per couple registration fee covers the costs of materials and resources. Need-based scholarships are available upon request.

How do I sign up?
The mentor-cohort option is uniquely customized for the individual needs of engaged couples. The registration process includes a registration form and 15-minute interview. The 15-minute interview allows coordinators to get to know each couple, their gifts, and their needs and expectations for the marriage retreat experience. It also guides the formation of cohort groups and mentor assignments. Engaged couples can access the registration form below, and can expect a follow-up email to schedule an interview after completing the registration form.
