Missionary Cooperative Plan
The Missionary Cooperative Plan, under the auspices of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, brings Catholic missionary groups from around the world to parishes in the Diocese of Erie. These missionaries are invited for the purpose of educating our parishioners about the mission work of the Church today- and the responsibility each of us has, by virtue of our baptism, to support that work. These missionaries not only increase our awareness of the Church’s missionary activity, but also help promote vocations to the missions in the hearts of our young people.A second purpose of the program is to raise funds for these missionaries to continue their work of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ in approximately 1,110 mission dioceses worldwide. We are invited to help these organizations with our prayers and financial support.
Applications for Missionary Cooperative Plan 2024 are closed. The deadline to submit the request letter to apply for 2025 is December 1, 2024. Note that a pre-requisite for acceptance is that all mission organizations and dioceses have an established U.S. contact.
