Society for the Propagation of the Faith

Pauline Marie Jaricot
(1799-1862) founded
Society for the
Propagation of the Faith
May 3, 1822.

Founded by a lay woman, Marie-Pauline Jaricot, the Propagation of the Faith provides support for the pastoral and evangelizing programs of the Church in Asia, Africa, the Pacific Islands and remote regions of Latin America. This world-wide effort includes aid for the education and support of seminarians, Religious Novices and lay catechists, and for the building of churches, schools and clinics.

When necessary, help is also provided for disaster and emergency relief. This important work relies on the prayers and financial support of all Catholics to answer Christ's call to "Go teach all nations."
