Erie parish offers presentation: What is hospice?
Blessed Sacrament Parish in Erie is offering an educational opportunity about palliative medicine and hospice care — what each offers and how they intersect. Also, hear an update on the Julia Hospice House which is being built in McKean. Karen Adams, who is part of the Julia Hospice & Palliative Care board of advisors and a hospice chaplain, will be the speaker. Karen will give participants insight into the benefit of hospice and how compassionate and loving this pro-life approach can be for loved ones at the end of life. Save the date for this presentation and Q & A on Thursday, August 22 at 7 pm at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 W. 26th Street, Erie. The presentation will be in the church.
Enjoy Glinodo Goat Fest 2024
The Benedictine Sisters of Erie invite all to join them for the second Glinodo Goat Fest on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 1 – 4 pm. Their (goat and human) friends from Let's Goat Buffalo will be on scene helping them clear out invasive species from Glinodo's creekside trail. This event is free, family friendly and open to all. See the goats working and while there, enjoy a storybook trail, nature art, games and popcorn. All are invited to join this celebration of the earth and our connection to it. See attachment for details.
Walk for Gaza
Benedictines for Peace (BFP) invites you to join them this summer in walking 25 miles — the length of Gaza — while praying for the peoples of this region and for an immediate ceasefire. This can be done on each person’s own timeline, as part of a team of walkers or individually, outdoors or indoors, before Labor Day. BFP is organizing one opportunity to walk together: On August 21 at 5 pm, all are invited to meet at Beach 1 on Presque Isle to walk together for five miles on the Multipurpose Trail. Walk to pray, raise awareness and raise funds. Full information can be found at https://benedictinesforpeace.com/gospel-action/walkforgaza/.
