The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Please find attached Bishop Persico’s letter introducing the 2025 Church in Latin America Collection, taken the weekend of Aug. 16-17. Parishes are asked to publicize this collection in a significant way on the weekend of Aug. 9-10.
International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter
The Catholic Foundation is happy to share the attached August edition of the International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter (English and Spanish versions are available). Pastors and parish staff are encouraged to read and share this publication with their parishioners, using all or parts of it for their parish bulletin, with credit to the author/source.
August edition of Jubilee Journey: Pilgrims of Hope available now
The August edition of the Jubilee Journey: Pilgrims of Hope newsletter is now available. To recognize the Jubilee Year 2025, this newsletter is suitable for printing in parish bulletins and provides both informative and interactive elements for children and adults. Each edition celebrates the monthly jubilee events recognized by the Vatican and brings readers along for a spiritual pilgrimage. The August edition is attached and the graphics have been added to the parish social media page.
November is Black Catholic History Month
Throughout the month of November, the Diocese of Erie will be highlighting stories that honor the rich legacy and vibrant contributions of Black Catholics in our church. We would love to feature individuals and families from across our parishes. Glinodo Goat Fest
The Benedictine Sisters of Erie invite you to the third Glinodo Goat Fest, 6270 East Lake Rd., Erie, on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 1-4 p.m. Our friends from Let's Goat Buffalo and Rosemary and Pine will be on scene helping us clear out invasive species from Glinodo's creek side trail. This event is free, family-friendly, and open to all. Come see the goats working, and while you're here, join us for a storybook trail (from local author Heather Cash), nature art, games and snacks. Join us for this celebration of the Earth and our connection to it. See attached poster.
Mini faith pilgrimage through Elk County
If you are looking for a faith inspired staycation, consider taking a road trip through Elk County and visiting these stops along the way:
- Jubilee of Hope pilgrimage site at St. Leo Magnus Parish, 111 Depot St., Ridgway, open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Adoration is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tues. and Thurs.
- 1886 Convent Chapel (renovated), 319 Church St., St. Marys.
- The Benedictine Gift Shop/ St. Joseph Convent Museum, 139 Church St., St. Marys, hours of operation: Tues. through Fri. from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sat. from 10 to 1p.m., closed Sun., Mon. and Holy Days
- Decker’s Chapel, Million Dollar Highway, St. Marys.
- Elk sight-seeing through Weedville and Benezette, PA Elk Visitor Center, 950 Winslow Hill Rd., Benezette. Open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
- The Cross on the Hill, 2041 Mt. Zion Rd., Weedville, open from dawn until dusk.

The office of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Erie is seeking a conscientious, enthusiastic, organized and professional individual to assist in a variety of responsibilities including, serving as the first point of contact for the CSO to provide customer service, developing and distributing key communications from the CSO as needed, provide the Assistant Superintendent with administrative and procedural support by tracking and managing school personnel related functions and documents, assisting with support for government and special programs, assisting with Catholic mission/identity and academic services by providing administrative support for initiatives and programs.
