The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Microsite highlights the life of Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI; Bishop Persico to offer Mass
The Diocese of Erie has launched a microsite with highlights of the life of Pope Benedict XVI. It can be accessed through the diocesan homepage or directly at https://www.eriercd.org/benedict.html. The site includes a downloadable prayer card that can be printed for use by parishes, schools and individuals. The site also includes the statement Bishop Lawrence Persico issued upon the news of the former pontiff’s death. Bishop Persico will offer a public Mass for Pope Benedict on Jan. 5 at 12:10 p.m. at St. Peter Cathedral, 230 West 10th St., Erie. All are welcome.
2023 Help Spread the Faith Communications Collection
Please find attached Bishop Persico’s letter introducing the 2023 Help Spread the Faith Communications Collection, to be taken the weekend of Jan. 22. Parishes are asked to publicize this collection in a significant way on the weekend of Jan. 15.
Diocese releases Catholic Services Appeal goals for 2023
Pastors, administrators and parish business managers are asked to read the attached memo and spreadsheet from Financial Services of the Diocese of Erie regarding parish goals for the 2023 Catholic Services Appeal.
International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter
The Catholic Foundation is happy to share the attached January edition of the International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter. Pastors and parish staff are encouraged to read and share this publication with their parishioners, using all or parts of it for their parish bulletin, with credit to the author/source.

Eucharist: Food for the Journey
The DuBois Area Roman Catholic Churches will host the third of their five-part series, The Eucharist: Food for the Journey, on Jan. 12 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 20 Shaffer St., Sykesville. Msgr. Richard Siefer will be the guest speaker with a reflection titled The Eucharist as Meal. Each session consists of a reflection by a guest speaker, time for Eucharistic adoration, an opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation, meditative music, activities for children and a light meal. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
Eucharistic Revival Mission
Our Lady of Peace Parish in Erie is hosting a Eucharistic Revival Mission in conjunction with the Office for Divine Worship of the Diocese of Erie on Jan. 22-24 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 West 38th St., Erie. All are welcome. See flier for details.
Erie March for Life
People for Life are hosting the Erie March for Life on Jan. 28 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The march begins at Perry Square in downtown Erie. See flier for details and visit www.peopleforlife.org for more information.
Properties manager
St. Joseph Church and St. Joseph School in Lucinda are seeking a properties manager. The full-time properties manager will work collaboratively with the pastor, business manager, principal, staff, and the Building and Grounds Committee. This person sees that all areas of the church, school, cemetery property, rectory, buildings and equipment are maintained.
