Updates needed for email usage
Updates are needed for all clergy and parish staff who check email through a Mac, smart phone or tablet, or Windows Mail. Starting mid-July, outdated versions of Outlook for iOS and Android for smart devices, as well as versions of Outlook for Mac and Windows Mail, and calendar applications will cease to work. Users must update to the latest versions for continued functionality and support. This does not impact Outlook installed on Windows computers - Outlook (classic) or Outlook New. Outlook New is still in the preview stage and a specific retirement date for Outlook the Windows has not been released.
The following list details which versions Microsoft has retired. The version number can usually be found on the Help menu within the app.
- Outlook for iOS versions prior to 4.2411. To find this, open the app > tap the round icon to the left of the word Inbox > tap the gear icon > Tap Help & Feedback > scroll down to see the version number at the bottom of the screen.
- Outlook for Android versions before 4.2342
- Outlook for Mac versions older than 16.73
- Windows Mail and Calendar applications
