Diocese of Erie releases clergy appointment list
The Most Rev. Lawrence T. Persico, Bishop of Erie, has appointed clergy for the Diocese of Erie to new assignments. The full list of clergy assignments released this week can be found here or attached.
Office for Divine Worship monthly newsletter
The Office for Divine Worship presents a monthly newsletter to aid in preparing celebrations that will occur in that particular month. The August newsletter is attached.
Catholic Foundation Offers Catholic Social Ministry Grant Opportunity
The Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania is still accepting applications for its Catholic Social Ministry Grant opportunity through July 27. Those eligible to apply for these grants are Catholic 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving people within the 13 counties of the Diocese of Erie, departments of the Diocese of Erie and parishes. Each organization must have programs supporting family ministries, justice and peace, respect life, parish social ministry, ministry to persons with disabilities, or natural family planning. Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration
Saint Joseph Bread of Life Community, 147 W. 24th St., Erie, is looking for individuals for one hour each week to remain in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament at their adoration chapel. Scam Alert: Fraudulent Parish Directory Requests
Please be reminded of the parish directory scam. Most recently, individuals have been posing as the Bishop to request copies of parish directories. Because parish directories contain valuable parishioner contact information, please do not provide a directory to anyone without first verifying the request directly with the individual. For more information, please read the attached document.

Today, most websites and apps use encryption automatically and modern devices are much better at protecting users than they were years ago. Mercer County Praise and Worship night
St. Bartholomew Parish, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, will be hosting a Mercer County Praise and Worship night on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. The Praise and Worship Adoration will begin with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, praise and worship music, benediction and a light reception to follow. Feast of St. James special Mass and Picnic
Celebrate the Feast of St. James on Saturday, July 25, at St. James Parish, 7305 Third St., Driftwood. The celebration will include a special Mass with guest homilist Fr. Justin Pino, historian and archivist for the Diocese of Erie and pastor of St. Leo Magnus Parish in Ridgway. Following Mass, all are invited to a parish picnic. After the picnic, Fr. Cursillo Picnic
The annual diocesan Cursillo Picnic will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Our Lady of Peace picnic pavilion behind the school, 2401 W. 38th St., Erie. Bring a dish to share and a lawn chair. Chicken, hot dogs, corn, watermelon and beverages will be provided. Family members are welcome to attend. The Catholic Parishes of Eastern Clearfield County — St. Agnes, St. Basil the Great and Christ the King — are seeking a full-time faith formation director. This position is responsible for overseeing the religious education program, primarily for the children of the three partnered parishes, while supporting the pastor's vision of deepening parishioners' knowledge and practice of the Catholic faith.
