The deadline for submissions is Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.

The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

2025 Church in Latin America Collection
Please find attached Bishop Persico’s letter introducing the 2025 Church in Latin America Collection, taken the weekend of August 16-17. Parishes are asked to publicize this collection in a significant way on the weekend of August 9-10.

International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter
The Catholic Foundation is happy to share the attached August edition of the International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter (English and Spanish versions are available). Pastors and parish staff are encouraged to read and share this publication with their parishioners, using all or parts of it for their parish bulletin, with credit to the author/source.

Clergy Appointments

August edition of Jubilee Journey: Pilgrims of Hope available now
The August edition of the Jubilee Journey: Pilgrims of Hope newsletter is now available. To recognize the Jubilee Year 2025, this newsletter is suitable for printing in parish bulletins and provides both informative and interactive elements for children and adults. Each edition celebrates the monthly jubilee events recognized by the Vatican and brings readers along for a spiritual pilgrimage. The August edition is attached and the graphics have been added to the parish social media page.

Office for Divine Worship monthly newsletter
The Office for Divine Worship presents a monthly newsletter to aid in preparing celebrations that will occur in that particular month. The August newsletter is attached.

Parish Annual Reports are due
The Office of Financial Services has requested that all Parish Annual Reports be filed on or before August 31. All reports are available at: https://www.eriercd.org/finance/# under Annual Parish Report. If you have any questions about completing the reports, please contact Pat Barron at 814-824-1168.

November is Black Catholic History Month
Throughout the month of November, the Diocese of Erie will be highlighting stories that honor the rich legacy and vibrant contributions of Black Catholics in our church. We would love to feature individuals and families from across our parishes. Mini faith pilgrimage through Elk County
If you are looking for a faith inspired staycation, consider taking a road trip through Elk County and visiting these stops along the way:

St. Joseph Parish Golf Outing
Join us for the St. Joseph Parish Golf Outing on Sunday, Aug. 17, at Treasure Lake's Silver Course, 231 Palmetto Rd., DuBois. The tournament begins with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The cost is $80 per person or $65 for course members. Enjoy an afternoon of friendly competition with cash prizes, skill prizes, a 50/50 raffle and a chance to win $10,000 on a Par 3 hole-in-one. Frassati Canonization celebration and movie
St. Francis Xavier Parish, 8880 Main St., McKean, invites you to join them for a Canonization Celebration following the 6 p.m. Vigil Mass on Saturday, Sept. 6. As we prepare for the canonization of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, enjoy dinner and a screening of the movie "Pier Giorgio Frassati: If I Didn't Have Love" in anticipation of his canonization the next day.   • Spirit-filled healing Mass
    St. Joseph Bread of Life Parish, 147 W. 24th St., Erie, will be hosting a spirit-filled healing Mass on Tuesday, August 12 with Father David Renne and again on Tuesday, Oct.7. Worship provided by Harmony’s House begins at 6:15 p.m. with Mass at 6:30. See attachment for more information.
  • Faith on Fire! "Greater Things" Luncheon
    On Saturday, August 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., St. Joseph Bread of Life Center, 147 W. 24th St., Erie will be hosting a luncheon with a Be Transformed- Jesus Desire to Heal talk by Father Dan Hoffman and worship provided by Harmony’s House.
