The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

2022 Peter’s Pence collection
Please find attached Bishop Lawrence Persico’s letter introducing the 2022 Peter’s Pence collection, to be taken the weekend of June 25-26. Parishes are asked to publicize this collection in a significant way on the weekend of June 18-19.

Quo Vadis Days
Quo Vadis Days is a four-day camp for Catholic young men in grades 9-12 who are striving to follow God’s call in their lives. This is an excellent opportunity for those considering the priesthood or seminary formation or who are wondering if God is calling them to a religious vocation. Quo Vadis Days will be held July 24-27 at St. Mark Seminary in Erie. Please see the attached registration form and flier for further information. Divine Mercy Encounter (DME) retreat returns
Divine Mercy Encounter invites anyone 15 or older to make its upcoming onsite retreat on July 15-17. The weekend includes talks, exposure to different types of prayer, Mass, community and much more. The program runs from 10 a.m. on Friday to 5 p.m. on Sunday, with retreat participants staying at St. Joseph Parish/Bread of Life Community in Erie. REEF grant opportunity
The Religious Education Enrichment Fund (REEF) of the Diocese of Erie has already awarded more than $183,000 in 2022. Apply now to secure funding for a worthy project. Grant applications will be accepted through July 1, 2022, for the third-quarter award cycle. Three types of funding opportunities are available: 1) Creative Project for faith-based formation start-up projects; 2) Ministry Training for conferences, workshops and non-degree certificate courses; and 3) Leadership Training for professional education and training. International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter
The Catholic Foundation is happy to share the attached June edition of the International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter. Pastors and parish staff are encouraged to read and share this publication with their parishioners, using all or parts of it for their parish bulletin, with credit to the author/source.

Camp Notre Dame seeks camp counselors
Pastors will find a letter attached from Camp Notre Dame requesting placement of a bulletin announcement regarding summer employment. Camp Notre Dame is seeking young people (college age and 2022 high school graduates) interested in working as a camp counselor this summer.

Knights to host first golf tournament
The Knights of Columbus Council #17105 of St. Francis Xavier Parish in McKean is hosting its first annual golf tournament at Riverside Golf in Cambridge Springs on June 11. Get a hole-in-one and win a car! Lots of fun, beginning at 8 a.m. See the attachment for all the details.

St. George Parish plans concert featuring Daniel Cabanillas
St. George Parish, 5145 Peach St., Erie, invites everyone to spend a summer evening with Daniel Cabanillas on Thursday, June 30, at 7 p.m. in the church. The event will kick off the parish centennial. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased by calling 814-864-0622, ext. 349, or by stopping by the rectory office.

St. George Parish to mark centennial with Mass and reception
St. George Parish, Erie, will celebrate its 100th anniversary (One Faith, One Family, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow), beginning with Mass offered by Bishop Lawrence Persico on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 4:30 p.m. The event will continue with an adult reception of heavy hors d’oeuvres, music and memories. Worship coordinator/keyboard accompanist
The Sisters of the Humility of Mary in Villa Maria, Pennsylvania (located halfway between Youngstown, Ohio, and New Castle), are seeking an experienced worship coordinator with vocal and piano/organ expertise and knowledge of Catholic liturgical services. This position is 20 to 24 hours per week with flexible hours, including availability for weekdays and weekend Masses, holy days, funerals and other special services. Responsibilities include coordinating all worship and liturgical services for the Villa Maria campus and providing inspiration for full participation of members of the Villa community. Bachelor’s degree in music, liturgy, theology, or other relevant degree preferred, along with three years’ experience.
