Due to the Memorial Day holiday, the next Information Bulletin is Tuesday, May 30, 2023.The deadline for submissions is Thursday, May 25, at 4:30 p.m.
The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Obligatory memorial
A new memorial was added to the liturgical calendar in 2018: The Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church. The Congregation for Divine Worship announced that this new obligatory memorial will be celebrated on the Monday after Pentecost. This year, the date of the memorial is May 29. Please note that this is NOT a holy day of obligation. For details on the prayers for Mass and the appropriate readings for the day, please see the attachment. Global Marian prayer
The Office for Divine Worship invites you to join the global Marian prayer on May 31 as we entrust the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops to Mary. Liturgical resources in different languages are available at https://www.synodresources.org/31may2023/#Synod.
Items from the Office for Divine Worship
Pastors will find attached three items from the Office for Divine Worship:
- An invitation for all clergy and parishes to participate in one of the regional Eucharistic Processions on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, June 11.
- An invitation for your parish to participate in the “Parish Year” of the Eucharistic Revival by using the available resources at eucharisticrevival.org.
- The revised draft of the Diocesan Devotions Calendar. Changes can be suggested to the Office for Divine Worship through May 30. The calendar begins this July.

Assessment correction
In the Information Bulletin sent out on May 1, six parishes with elementary schools were inaccurately charged on the original Catholic Schools Support Assessment. All six of these parishes were located within Erie County. Below are the six parishes affected:
- James Parish, Erie
- Luke Parish, Erie
- Blessed Sacrament Parish, Erie
- Our Lady of Peace Parish, Erie
- George Parish, Erie
- Jude Parish, Erie

St. Francis Xavier Parish in McKean is hosting all night Adoration from May 27 at 7 p.m. to May 28 at 10:30 a.m. Adoration will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 8880 Main St., McKean. See flier for details.
The Essence of Spring
Transcendence invites you to a spring concert featuring new compositions by Richard Robert Rossi, alongside sacred and secular works by renowned composers such as Monteverdi, Bruckner, Stanford, Memley and Moses Hogan. Wedding anniversary celebrations with Bishop Persico
Diocesan anniversary celebrations for couples celebrating 25, 40, 50, 60 or more years of marriage in 2023 will be held at two locations in the Diocese of Erie this summer:
- Aug. 6 at Our Lady of Peace, 2401 W. 38th St., Erie at 2 p.m.
- Aug. 20 at Ss. Cosmas and Damian, 616 W. Mahoning St., Punxsutawney at 2 p.m.

Talk by Kendra Von Esh
Catholic Daughters of the Americas St. Mary Court #95 invites you to join them for a talk by Kendra Von Esh on Sept. 24 at Elk County Catholic High School, 600 Maurus St., St. Marys. The program begins at 9:00 a.m., preceded by an 8:00 a.m. meet and greet. Author Kendra Von Esh, recognized by Relevant Radio, CV and EWTN, will share her journey from a life of sin to spiritual warfare. A $10 fee includes a light lunch, and Kendra's book will be available for signing and purchase for $15.
