The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

#iGiveCatholic advanced giving starts today, runs through Giving Tuesday
Starting today and running through Nov. 29, #iGiveCatholic donations can be made online at erie.igivecatholic.org or directly to a parish, school or ministry by cash or check. Organizations may consider emailing supporters, posting a flier at building entrances, or inserting a notice in bulletins or newsletters. It also is time to post #iGiveCatholic yard signs. 2023 Official Catholic Directory updates (Kenedy Directory)
The Official Catholic Directory, also known as the Kenedy Directory, lists every Catholic entity in the United States. It is used to confirm tax-exempt status for these entities under the USCCB group ruling with the IRS. Parishes, schools and other Catholic organizations must update their entries online each year. The Official Catholic Directory sent an email on Nov. 9 to every organization that has provided an email address. Institutional representatives should log in at https://ocdedits.com/login to complete their updates for the 2022 Official Catholic Directory by Dec. 7. The Catholic Foundation is happy to share the attached November edition of the International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter. Craft show in Albion
St. Lawrence and St. Philip parishes are hosting their annual craft show on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Lawrence Parish Center, 180 East State St., Albion. In addition to vendors selling crafts, a gift auction and concessions are available.
Eucharistic Miracles of World Exhibit
St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Erie will be displaying the International Eucharistic Miracles of the World exhibit designed by Blessed Carlo Acutis at St. Mark social hall, 695 Smithson Ave., Erie on Nov. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Nov. 21, 22, and 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The exhibit also will be open on Nov. 26 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7 p.m., as well as Nov. 27 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 814-899-3000 or email office@smmc.church with questions.
Thanksgiving food drive
The Knights of Columbus of St. Jude Parish in Erie are hosting their annual Thanksgiving food drive on Nov. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 West 6th St., Erie. The food drive benefits families in need of a Thanksgiving meal. Frozen turkeys, non-perishable food donations and all financial donations are being accepted. See flier for details.
Reflect on the Advent Scriptures
Blessed Sacrament Parish in Erie is hosting a reflection on Advent Scriptures with Fr. Michael Kesicki, university chaplain at Gannon University, on Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. and on Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cafeteria, 1626 West 26th St., Erie. See flier for details.
Christmas garage sale at Our Lady of Peace
The Boy Scouts, sponsored by Our Lady of Peace in Erie, are hosting a Christmas garage sale on Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Dec. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace School cafeteria, 2401 West 38th St., Erie. Donations of Christmas decorations can be dropped off on Nov. 21 and Nov. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will benefit OLP Troop 59's activities. Christmas basket raffle to benefit Benedictine ministries
The St. Benedict Academy alumnae board will host a Christmas basket raffle on Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Polish Falcons, 431 East 3rd St., Erie. Seventy baskets will be offered, along with games of chance. The suggested donation for the basket raffle is $10 for 25 tickets. Proceeds benefit the St. Benedict Child Development Center, inner-city ministries of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, scholarships and alumnae board ministries. Open to the public. You need not be present to win.
Clothing distribution party
The Community Outreach Group will host its annual clothing distribution party on Dec. 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Center, 453 West 16th St., Erie. In addition to receiving free clothing, patrons can enjoy a free hot lunch. Santa and his special helpers will be on site to distribute toys to children. See flier for additional details.
