The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Respect Life Month
October is Respect Life Month, and Radical Solidarity is this year’s theme. The USCCB Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities provides a wide range of resources to help Catholics build a culture that respects life and human dignity. Rosebuds faith formation
The Office of Faith Formation for the Diocese of Erie supports Rosebuds, a specialized religious education program designed for children with mental and physical challenges. Open to children from all parishes, the program focuses on sacramental preparation using the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy curriculum and Adaptive Sacramental Preparation Kits. With over 20 years of proven success, many parents from St. Andrew Parish can attest to the positive impact Rosebuds has had on their child's spiritual development. Deadline approaching for Catholic Foundation Education Grant opportunity
Catholic parishes and schools are invited to apply for an Education Grant from the Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania. Already this year, funding has been granted to support a wide variety of faith formation and technology projects and programs throughout northwest Pennsylvania. Don’t miss this opportunity! Father/Son and Mother/Daughter weekends
Camp Notre Dame is excited to offer Father/Son and Mother/Daughter weekends this fall. These special weekends are designed to foster enduring parent-child relationships through shared experiences in the beautiful setting of Camp Notre Dame in Fairview.
- Mother/Daughter Weekends: September 22-24, October 6-8
- Father/Son Weekends: October 20-22, November 3-5, January 12-14

SSJ Neighborhood Network celebrity bartending
Join the Sisters of Saint Joseph on Sept. 22 from 5:30-10 p.m. at the La Nuova Aurora Society, 1518 Walnut St., Erie, for live music by the Breeze Band, over 20 local celebrities behind the bar, gift baskets and games of chance. Roast beef dinner
St. Lawrence Parish in Albion is hosting a restaurant-style roast beef dinner on Oct. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Lawrence Parish Center, 129 E. Pearl St., Albion. The dinner will also feature a gift auction, 50/50, bake sale and raffle. Tickets are $14 per person, and take-out is available. The event is limited to 400 meals, so come early to ensure you don't miss out!
Oktoberfest
St. Boniface Parish in Erie will celebrate Oktoberfest on Oct. 6 beginning at 6 p.m. at the church, 9367 Wattsburg Rd., Erie. The adult-only event will feature craft beers brewed at St. Boniface Parish. There will also be music, games and food provided by Brady’s Chuckwagon food truck. Come and join our celebration of the harvest feast in German style.
Father-Son Day
Start the conversation on manhood and vocations at the Father-Son Day event on Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Church, 9367 Wattsburg Rd., Erie. Hosted by the Virtue & Integrity Education Office of the Diocese of Erie, this event aims to educate fathers and their sons, ages 11-13, on the changes of puberty and the sacred values of life. A $30 registration fee includes two meals, activities, educational talks, and one-on-one time. Parents should use their own judgment to assess their son's readiness for the topics discussed. Rosary March
The World Apostolate of Fatima Diocesan Division is sponsoring a 29th Annual Diocesan Rosary March to be held on Oct. 8 from 2-4 p.m. at St. Peter Cathedral, 230 W. 10th St., Erie. The Rosary March will begin outside the cathedral and walk approximately one mile around downtown Erie. For those unable to walk outside, the rosary will be prayed inside the cathedral. The Rosary March will conclude with a prayer service inside the cathedral from 3-4 p.m. with Bishop Lawrence Persico presiding, Father Scott Jabo as the guest homilist, Father Jerry Priscaro leading the Eucharistic adoration and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Enrollment in the brown scapular will follow at the conclusion of benediction. All priests and laity of the diocese are invited to attend.
