Secondary: What is real faith and why do I need a Church? Ages 19-35

Description:
From the Divine Mercy Encounter website (https://www.divinemercyencounter.com/):

"Divine Mercy Encounter (DME) is a three-day retreat program. Each day has a different focus: Friday is the Day of Invitation, focusing on how God is inviting us into relationship. Saturday is the Day of Encounter, where we encounter God through the sacraments, Adoration, and others. Sunday is the Day of Commission, where we as a community are empowered to evangelize and share our faith. The weekend includes talks, exposure to different types of prayer, Mass, community, and much more. The weekend runs from 10am on Friday to 5pm on Sunday, and retreat participants stay onsite for the weekend.” Opportunities for continued involvement in the community, based on one’s experience on the weekend, are available. DME is largely a regional ministry and is available for parishes to refer or send their high school, young adult, and adult parishioners.

Previous Successes:

  • Hosted in Erie, PA three times annually and in St. Marys, PA once annually. Retreatants often stay connected to the community through serving as retreat leaders or taking part in community reunions. DME participants are more likely to stay connected to their faith through college. Several express that it was the beginning of a new awareness of their faith and relationship with Jesus.
