Holy Redeemer Parish Pilgrimage: A journey of faith and community in the Jubilee Year of Hope
04/01/2025
(Warren) - As part of the Jubilee Year of Hope celebrations, Holy Redeemer Parish in Warren is organizing a meaningful pilgrimage to Lancaster, PA, on May 6-7, 2025. This two-day journey promises to be a profound spiritual experience, offering opportunities for reflection, community and inspiration.
The pilgrimage will be highlighted by the awe-inspiring live production of NOAH at the renowned Sight & Sound Theatre. This spectacular performance vividly brings to life the biblical story of Noah’s Ark, reminding pilgrims of the power of faith, obedience and God’s providence.
In addition to this unique theatrical experience, the pilgrimage will also include visits to three significant spiritual sites:
- Cathedral Parish of Saint Patrick: A historic and beautiful church that stands as a testament to the enduring Catholic faith in the region.
- Shrine of the Miraculous Medal (Saint Catherine Labouré): A place of prayer and reflection dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, where pilgrims can seek spiritual renewal.
- Historic Saint Mary’s Catholic Church: An iconic landmark of faith, offering pilgrims a glimpse into the rich heritage of Catholic worship.
Participating in this pilgrimage fulfills some of the key steps toward obtaining a plenary indulgence during the Jubilee Year of Hope. By visiting these designated pilgrimage sites, attending Mass and engaging in prayer and reflection, pilgrims can experience the fullness of God’s mercy and grace.
Pilgrims will also participate in daily Mass, fostering spiritual growth and unity among the participants. An evening in Historic Lancaster will provide opportunities for shopping, dining and fellowship, adding a cultural dimension to the journey.
"Our goal with this pilgrimage is to foster spiritual renewal while sharing an unforgettable experience as a community," said Jennifer Wortman, director for faith formation at Holy Redeemer Parish. "We hope that through this journey, our parishioners will return with a renewed sense of faith and purpose."
This pilgrimage is a part of the parish’s ongoing efforts to live out the Holy Year of Hope. By visiting significant spiritual sites, participating in Mass and sharing in the story of Noah, participants will be reminded of the resilience of faith and the importance of community.
