Knights of Columbus revive coffee fellowship at St. Bernard’s

Bradford, PA – The Knights of Columbus Council #403 continue their mission of faith and service by reviving a beloved tradition in the Bradford Catholic community. Following the closure of St. Francis Church, the long-standing post-Mass coffee and breakfast gathering was in danger of disappearing. Thanks to the initiative of Brother Knights John Place and Doug Kuntz, the tradition has found a new home at St. Bernard’s Gallina Hall, where parishioners now gather for Coffee Fellowship every Tuesday and Thursday after the 9:00 AM Mass.
Recognizing the importance of fellowship in faith, John Place proposed the idea at a Council #403 meeting, where it was met with enthusiastic approval. With the support of Rev. John Jacquel, the plan was put into action, and now, in its eighth week, the Coffee Fellowship continues to grow. Attendance regularly reaches 15–23 parishioners, providing a warm and welcoming space for community connection.
“Faith without action is dead,” says Place, who, along with Kuntz, ensures that parishioners can come together not only for worship but also for shared moments of fellowship and encouragement. Generously supported by the Knights of Columbus, the gathering is sustained by donations and the dedication of volunteers.
With the Lenten season in full swing, the Coffee Fellowship remains a meaningful way for parishioners to strengthen their faith and community bonds.
