MEADVILLE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN VOCATION EVENT

MEADVILLE -National Vocation Awareness Week, celebrated November 3-9, 2019, is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education. All Catholics are called to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these vocations.

Bishop Lawrence Persico celebrated Mass at St. Mary of Grace Church in Meadville on Sunday, Oct. 27 that was attended by Meadville religious education students. Mass was followed by lunch and a vocation event led by Father Mike Polinek, Diocese of Erie vocationdirector. Father Jeff Lucas, pastor; Father Andy Boyd, parochial vicar; Sister Josephine Vuodi, FSO, Sister Mary Andrew Himes, RSM, and St. Mark seminarians Domenic Ellis, Michael Scanga and Thomas Whiteford shared their vocation stories. Small group discussion and a question and answer period also was part of the event that served as a kick-off to a 40-hours devotion for the Meadville Catholic Community.
