Burial Options

The Erie Diocesan Cemeteries consist of:

• Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum
• Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Mausoleum
• Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery
• Trinity Cemetery

There are several options available to include traditional graves, mausoleum crypts and interior or exterior cremation niches.

Entombment is the interment or placement of a body in an interior/exterior mausoleum crypt. A casket or urn can be placed in a crypt space. Also, an urn can be placed in one of several styles of cremation niches such as an interior glass-front niche, interior marble-front niche, exterior columbarium niche or exterior granite-front niche. 

Lawn Crypts: Companion Lawn Crypts include a grave with a double-tier concrete burial vault and bronze marker with vase (optional) on a granite foundation.

Emblems: Bronze emblems are permitted to be added to crypt-fronts and niche-fronts for those interred in one of our four mausoleums. An emblem brochure can be found near the entrance of the mausoleums or at the main office located at Calvary Cemetery.
